Ellon Biodiversity Action Group
There are thousands of towns throughout Scotland, but Ellon is very special.
It is the natural features throughout the town that make it stand out from the rest, head and shoulders above all.
While the town has grown and continues to do so, the superb areas that give Ellon its true natural character have survived, together with the inherent wildlife.
This has not been through default but by design, and has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of a number of local residents.
EBAG is a group of such dedicated and concerned people who have given their time to create the award winning riverside Park, have helped to ensure that the areas of woodland are conserved and cared for, have helped to conserve and maintain the many natural features through the town and continue to work hard for Ellon's 'green areas'.
More recently the group have helped to create a new area of Community Woodland at Balmacassie to the east side of the town. They have also been carrying out work to conserve the beautiful red squirrel, that is such a marvellous natural resident in Ellon.
Planting trees, cleaning out ponds, creating wildflower meadows and much more are all tasks that are carried out by EBAG members, who give up a little of their time for the benefit of the town's natural habitats and the inhabitants.
